Grand Strand Pizza Results!
Before we get into it, the usual reminder: this is just my opinion. Food is subjective, everyone has their preferences, and pizza opinions are right up there with politics and traffic complaints. I’ll also be upfront — I’m not a hardcore New York thin-crust guy. I tend to lean toward pan pizza and thicker styles like Sicilian, Detroit, or grandma pizza.
That said, I’ve eaten plenty of legit New York pizza in New York City, including well-known spots on Arthur Ave in the Bronx, along with Chicago deep dish and tavern-style thin in Chicago, plus pizza all over the country. And here’s where I push back a little: people love to say there’s “no real New York–style pizza in Myrtle Beach,” but that argument misses the point. New York–style is a style of pizza, not something that only exists within city limits.
Just like you can make a great deep dish outside of Chicago, a great steak outside of Texas, a great Mexican burrito outside of San Diego, or incredible food from talented chefs anywhere in the country, you can absolutely make a solid NY-style pie here too. So the rankings below aren’t about geography or nostalgia — they’re about how well each pizza delivers within its intended style.
IMPORTANT
All of these rankings are tough to lock in, especially in the middle of the list — spots like #6 through #9 could easily shift depending on the day, since I tried a lot of places and styles. So take the exact order with a grain of salt. The top five were a bit more intentional, but at the end of the day these are my personal preferences. Your rankings might look totally different, and that’s part of what makes pizza debates fun.
One more thing — the top 3 are getting a plaque, so if you won, please message us on Facebook or Insta, or email us at [email protected]
FORMAT FOR THESE REVIEWS
Keep in mind that I am not a paid “influencer”, meaning I paid for all these meals, except one place that was nice enough to comp me, but I will be honest with these reviews, not to damage businesses, but to be honest to the readers who want honesty.
To keep things fair (and avoid total pizza chaos), I broke each review down into three parts:
Flavor – This is the big one. I’m looking at how the crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings all come together. No single ingredient should steal the show for the wrong reasons — balance matters.
Vibe / Service – Because pizza somehow always tastes better when the service is good and the place feels right for the kind of pizza you’re eating. The experience still counts.
Overall Impression – My final takeaway. This is where I zoom out and say how the pizza stacked up and what lane it really belongs in — legit New York–style, thick and comforting pan pizza, or one of those “how is this place making such good pizza?” surprises.
To the Restaurants listed here, feel free to share this article on your socials or wherever to show off your rankings and reviews! Send us a message on Facebook or an email at [email protected] if you placed top 3.
With that in mind, here’s how the Grand Strand’s pizza scene shaped up in my taste test rankings…
Let’s get started ranking some Pizza
🍕 CATEGORY 1: BEST NON–NEW YORK–STYLE PIZZA
This category includes pan pizza, Sicilian, Detroit-style, wood-fired, and places doing their own thing.
These pizzas are not trying to be New York pizza, and they shouldn’t be judged like it. You can tell this is my preferred category as I already mentioned.
10. Casa Mia’s Surfside
Flavor:
Casa Mia’s is better known around here for its crab cakes and sit-down Italian dishes, so the pizza almost feels like a bonus. They’re doing a Neapolitan-style pie out of a large brick oven, and the flavors themselves are solid. The pepperoni and cheese both came through nicely. For my taste, the pizza was cooked a little more than I’d prefer, and it leaned a bit greasy — though that may just be part of the style rather than a flaw.
Vibe / Service:
This is a proper dining spot, not a pizza joint vibe. It’s comfortable, polished, and feels like a place you’d go for a nice dinner rather than just grabbing a slice. Service matches that — attentive and professional, which adds to the overall experience.
Overall Impression:
Casa Mia’s pizza stands out mainly because it’s different from what most places around here are doing. It’s not something I’d order all the time, but it’s worth trying if you want a Neapolitan-style pie from a brick oven in a more upscale setting. It may not be my personal go-to, but it earns points for variety and doing something outside the usual Myrtle Beach pizza lane.
📍Address: 2298 Glenns Bay Rd, Surfside Beach SC 29575

9. Ledo Pizza
Flavor:
Ledo Pizza is definitely doing its own thing. The rectangular pies and thin, flaky crust immediately set it apart from typical New York–style pizza. This is more of a Maryland-style pizza, and I actually enjoyed how different it felt. The cheese was very good and easily the strongest part of the pie. The crust itself, while unique, was a bit bland flavor-wise, but the overall combination still worked and made for an enjoyable pizza.
Vibe / Service:
I ordered this one through DoorDash, but Ledo’s is set up for dine-in, takeout, and catering. They offer a pretty broad menu beyond just pizza, which makes it a good option for groups or events where you’re feeding different tastes. It feels more like a casual neighborhood spot than a traditional pizzeria, with flexibility being one of its strengths.
Overall Impression:
Ledo Pizza earns points simply for being different. If you’re looking to switch things up from the usual pizza styles around here, this is a solid option. While the crust isn’t packed with flavor on its own, the quality of the cheese and the overall uniqueness make it something I’d order again, especially when I’m in North Myrtle Beach.
📍Address: 220 Hwy 17 N, North Myrtle Beach SC 29582

8. Extreme Pizza
Flavor:
Extreme Pizza is exactly what the name suggests — this place is all about toppings. The crust sits somewhere between pan and thin, so it’s not New York–style and not a heavy pan pizza either. What really stands out here is the sheer variety. They have well over a hundred topping options, from all kinds of meats and veggies to fruit and more creative combinations. The cheese and toppings were tasty, and everything felt intentionally layered rather than overloaded just for the sake of it.
Vibe / Service:
This is a franchise, but it’s independently owned, and it doesn’t feel cookie-cutter. The location at Broadway at the Beach gives it a nice dine-in setting if you want to eat there, but they’re also well set up for takeout and delivery. I had this one via DoorDash, and it held up well. It’s an easy option whether you’re out and about at Broadway or ordering in.
Overall Impression:
Extreme Pizza earns its spot by being different. This isn’t the place you go for traditional slices — it’s where you go when you want options, creativity, and the freedom to build exactly what you’re craving. If endless topping combinations are your thing, this is hands down one of the best spots around for that. It’s not an every-time pizza for me, but will certainly have this pizza anytime I’m in the mood to mix it up.

That Andouille sausage was great
7. The Lotus Den
Flavor:
Lotus Den isn’t a pizza place first — it’s a tapas spot and bar — which honestly makes the flatbread pizza even more impressive. They’re using a brick oven that originally belonged to Crave Italian, and it shows. The flatbread crust has great flavor, a nice soft bite, and semi crispy at the edges, and doesn’t feel dry or generic. The cheese and toppings are excellent, well-balanced, and feel intentional rather than just thrown on. This is one of those pizzas where every bite works.
Vibe / Service:
The vibe here is a big part of the appeal. It’s a cool, relaxed spot with a Greek-inspired theme that feels different from most places around the Strand. Service is friendly, attentive, and on point, which makes the experience even better. It’s the kind of place where you’re happy to hang out, order a drink, and take your time.
Overall Impression:
Lotus Den is a great example of a place that isn’t known for pizza but absolutely nails it anyway. The flatbread pizza is legitimately excellent and easily one of the more memorable non–NY-style pies from Pizza Quest. Between the flavor, atmosphere, and service, this is a spot I happily return to often— not just for the pizza, but for the whole experience. They would be ranked higher if it was an actual pizza place, but of course they are not, but these little flatbreads are really good!
📍Address: 5900 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach SC 29577

Meatball flatbread

6. Nellie’s Pizza
Flavor:
Nellie’s is a casual neighborhood pizza spot, and the pizza leans a little different than most places around here. The owner is Canadian, and while “Canadian-style pizza” isn’t a strict category, you can see the influence — a slightly thicker crust around the edges and generous toppings. We tried the pepperoni, a more loaded pie, and a buffalo chicken pizza. The toppings tasted fresh, which goes a long way. The sauce could’ve used a bit more flavor, but overall the pizza was enjoyable and well put together.
Vibe / Service:
This is primarily a takeout place with limited seating inside. It’s relaxed, quick, and no-frills. One thing locals clearly love here is the Canadian comfort food — the poutine in particular gets a lot of love, along with some other Canadian treats you don’t see everywhere around Myrtle Beach.
Overall Impression:
Nellie’s stands out by doing something a little different, and that works. It’s not New York–style, and it’s not trying to be. Between the thicker outer crust, fresh toppings, and the added bonus of Canadian favorites that locals swear by, it’s a solid option. It’s the kind of place you’re happy to have in the rotation, and I’d absolutely grab it again when I’m in the area.
📍Address: 8724 Hwy 707 Myrtle Beach SC 29588

Buffalo Chicken Pizza
5. Athens Pizza
Flavor:
Athens Pizza serves Greek-style pizza, and coming from New England — where Greek-owned pizza shops are everywhere — this style is very familiar to me. Greek pizza is typically pan-style with a thicker, airy crust and generous toppings. This one lands somewhere between pan and thin, and while I personally wish it leaned a little more toward a full pan pizza, the crust still had good flavor and held everything together well. The sauce tasted great and the cheese was solid, making for a very satisfying overall bite.
Vibe / Service:
This is a small, cozy spot in Socastee that feels like a true neighborhood restaurant. In addition to pizza, they offer Italian dishes, gyros, and other Greek favorites, which adds to the charm. It’s a comfortable place to sit down for a meal, but it also works perfectly for takeout.
Overall Impression:
Athens Pizza delivers a strong Greek-style pie that will feel especially familiar to anyone from New England. Even though it sits slightly between pan and thin, the crust still shines, and the overall flavor makes it worth ordering. It’s a solid local spot that offers something different from the usual pizza options and one I’d gladly go back to.
📍Address: 5419 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle Beach SC 29588

4. Pizza Squared
Flavor:
Pizza Squared is Detroit-style pizza, and that alone makes it stand out on the Grand Strand. For anyone unfamiliar, Detroit style is a thick, rectangular pizza baked in a deep steel pan, with a light, airy interior, a crispy, almost fried edge, and cheese that goes all the way to the sides to create that signature caramelized crust. Sauce is typically spooned on top rather than buried underneath.
This pizza is outstanding. The crust is fluffy inside with a serious crunch on the outside, the cheese is rich and perfectly browned, and the toppings are bold and creative. The clam and bacon combo is excellent, and specialty pies like the taco pizza show how far Ryan is willing to push things—in a good way. This is crave-worthy pizza.
Vibe/Service:
There’s no traditional storefront here, which is part of what makes Pizza Squared unique. Ryan runs pop-ups around the area, and currently, you can catch him every other Sunday starting at noon at Palmetto Taps in Conway—until he sells out, which happens often. It feels more like a pizza event than a quick stop, and locals who know, know. You’re not rushing in and out; you’re planning around it.
Overall Impression:
Pizza Squared is easily one of the best pizzas on the Grand Strand and the only true Detroit-style option around. If there were a dedicated brick-and-mortar location, this would likely rank even higher. Prices are a bit above your average pizza, but once you take a bite, it makes total sense, especially considering that it’s difficult pizza to make. This is specialty pizza done right, and absolutely worth seeking out.
📍 Pop-up location: Palmetto Taps, Conway
🕛 Schedule: Every other Sunday at 12pm (until sold out)

Clam and Bacon, don’t knock it till you try it!

🏆🥉#3 - Daniello’s Pizzeria and Pub
Flavor:
Daniello’s pizza is thin (but not super thin) with a really nice bite and great flavor in the crust. The toppings are fresh, generous, and they go all the way to the edge — no empty “bread border” here. Everything tastes balanced and well put together, and the sauce has a great, classic pizza flavor that pulls it all together.
Vibe/Service:
Inside feels like a true neighborhood pub — cozy, friendly, and the kind of place where it seems like everyone knows everyone. It’s a bar vibe but still welcoming, not rowdy or loud. Easy place to sit down, hang out, and enjoy a pie.
Overall Impression:
This is one of my go-to pizza spots in North Myrtle Beach because it’s consistently good and a little different in a way that works. Great toppings, great flavor, and a relaxed local pub atmosphere that makes you want to come back.
The pics are dark because it’s a bar!
📍 Address: 755 Main St, North Myrtle Beach SC 29582

🏆🥈#2 - Christo’s Italian Kitchen
Flavor:
Christo’s delivers a true pan-style pizza with a golden, semi-crispy crust that has real flavor thanks to the pan bake. The cheese is plentiful and melty, and the toppings are fresh and well distributed across the entire pie. Coming from New England—where Greek-owned pizzerias dominate the pan-pizza game—this one absolutely hits the mark. The sauce could use a bit more punch, but it doesn’t take away from how solid and satisfying the overall pizza is.
Vibe/Service:
This is a casual, welcoming spot run by Greek owners serving both Italian and Greek food. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it an easy place to sit down and enjoy a meal. Service is friendly and efficient, with that neighborhood restaurant feel where you can tell regulars keep coming back.
Overall Impression:
Christo’s is one of the better pan pizzas in the area and a standout if you’re looking for something outside the New York–style category. The crust is the star here—flavorful, well-textured, and exactly what a pan pizza should be. It earns a strong second-place spot in the non-NY style category, and if you’ve never had a truly good pan pizza, this is absolutely a place worth trying.
📍 Address: 1450 US 17 S, Surfside Beach SC 29575

Look at that golden crust!

🏆🥇#1 - AJ’s Pizza
Flavor:
AJ’s is one of those spots where everything just works. The crust has great structure and flavor, the sauce is balanced and tasty, and the toppings are generous without going overboard. They’ve got a solid lineup of specialty pizzas, but the one everyone talks about for good reason is the pickle pizza — and yes, it’s actually really good. Nothing here feels gimmicky; it’s just well-done pizza across the board.
Vibe/Service:
This is a takeout-only spot right on Highway 17, centrally located and easy to pop into if you’re driving by. They also deliver using their own drivers, which feels refreshingly old-school these days. No dine-in, no frills — just order, grab, and go. Even if you don’t live super close (I don’t), it’s still worth the drive to pick it up.
Overall Impression:
AJ’s earns the #1 spot in the non-NY style category for a reason. The pizza is consistently tasty from crust to toppings, with enough creativity to stand out while still staying true to what makes pizza great. If you’re looking for something different than New York–style but still crave quality, this is the one to beat.
📍 Address: 5917 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach SC 29577

If you like pickles, this is a must
NEXT CATEGORY…
🍕 CATEGORY 2: BEST NEW YORK–STYLE PIZZA
Thin crust. Foldable. Focus is on the toppings and sauce.
This category had way more options since everywhere is “Ny Style” around the Grand Strand. This one is stiff competition and I am ranking top 7, and then all others since there are many options.
I of course didn’t try every single NY Style Pizza place in the area, so there are far more, and I will try to update this list as I try more, but for now these are the ones I tried and my rankings, so these rankings are out of THE ONES I TRIED, WHICH IS THIS WHOLE LIST.
15. Aroma’s Pizza
Flavor:
This one just didn’t land for me. I tried both a pepperoni slice and a Sicilian, and neither did much of anything. The Sicilian was noticeably dry, and the regular slice was small and pretty lifeless in terms of flavor. You can kinda tell from the pictures… there wasn’t much there to get excited about. I know some people swear by this place, so maybe I caught them on an off day, but based on this visit, the pizza itself was a miss.
Vibe/Service:
No real complaints here. Service was fine, straightforward, and friendly enough. Nothing bad to say on that front, which honestly made the pizza disappointment sting a little more.
Overall Impression:
This was the biggest letdown on the list. I wanted to like it, especially with how much buzz it gets, but between the dry Sicilian and the bland slice, it’s not a place I plan on returning to. Could’ve been a bad day, and I’ll own that—but based on this visit alone, the pizza just wasn’t good enough to warrant another stop.
📍Address: 10799 SC-707, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

14. Gino’s Real NY Pizza (Forestbrook location)
Flavor:
Unfortunately, the pizza just didn’t do it for me. I went in expecting at least a solid New York–style slice, but it was pretty bland overall with not much flavor coming through. Nothing stood out with the crust, sauce, or cheese, and it just missed the mark from the first bite. I did like the white pizza better than the traditional.
Vibe/Service:
This was probably the biggest knock. The space itself felt small and not very well kept, and the customer service was rough. One person was clearly more focused on their phone than on helping customers, which immediately set the tone. Not exactly the kind of place that makes you want to hang around or come back.
Overall Impression:
This location was a miss for me across the board—pizza, service, and overall experience. I won’t be returning to the Forestbrook spot. That said, I’ve heard from a few people that other Gino’s locations are better, so I won’t completely write them off just yet. Maybe another location gets a redemption visit down the road.
📍Address: 3521 Belle Terre Blvd E1, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579

13. Danny’s Authentic NY Pizza
Flavor:
The pizza had good overall taste thanks to the seasoning and herbs, which definitely helped carry it. The classic NY slice was solid, but the pizza leaned a bit dry overall. The grandma slice didn’t really work for me texture-wise, though I’ll note I only had slices and not a full pie, which can make a difference.
Vibe/Service:
Located in the Publix plaza in Murrells Inlet, the space is small but offers both dine-in and takeout. It’s a casual setup and clearly a popular local spot, especially for the area. Service was fine and straightforward.
Overall Impression:
While it didn’t completely hit the mark for me, Danny’s is still one of the better options down in Murrells Inlet, especially if you’re craving NY-style pizza in that area. The flavors are there, even if the execution was a little dry on my visit. Worth noting that many people swear by it, and a full pie might tell a slightly different story.
📍Address: 11916 SC-707 suite a, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

12. Fratelli’s Pizza
Flavor:
Fratelli’s delivers a flavorful pizza that blends classic NY style with Italian influence. The seasoning and herbs stand out and give the slices a lot of character. The traditional slices were solid, but some of the more experimental options leaned a little too far outside the box for my taste. I tried a slice with tomato and onions (Mama Style) and didn’t care for it at all, mostly due to texture and balance.
Vibe/Service:
The inside is nice and clean, though the seating layout is a bit odd and tight. There is dine-in seating available, just not a ton of it. Lunch is a strong time to visit since they offer plenty of slice options. Service was excellent, and the Italian ownership shows in how the place is run.
Overall Impression:
Fratelli’s is a very good pizza spot, especially if you’re in the Market Common area. It may feel strange seeing it ranked lower, but the competition here is tough and not everything can be first place. While some slice styles weren’t for me, the quality, service, and flavor make this a spot worth visiting, particularly if you enjoy a slightly more Italian-leaning take on NY pizza.
📍Address: 1600 Farrow Pkwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

The one on the left wasn’t great, but otherwise I liked it

11. Cutty’s Pizza
Flavor:
Cutty’s puts out a good slice, but on this visit it didn’t quite hit the way I expected. I had slices instead of a full pie, and they weren’t super hot, which definitely affected both the texture and overall flavor. Nothing was bad by any means, but it didn’t fully click for me considering how hyped this place is. I have a strong feeling a whole pie—especially their grandma—might tell a different story.
Vibe/Service:
This spot has a serious following in Little River—almost cult-like, which I joked about with Jason Black, a local creator who joined me for this stop. It’s a very casual setup, attached to a gas station, with a small dining area and a no-frills vibe. That said, it clearly works for the community and has built a loyal fan base that absolutely loves this place.
Overall Impression:
Cutty’s is good, but for me it didn’t live up to the legendary status it has in that area—at least not on this visit. With so many people raving about it, I’m not ruling it out at all. This is firmly on my short list to try again, preferably with a full pizza, because I want to see what all the hype is about when everything is firing on all cylinders.
📍Address: 1442 US-17, Little River, SC 29566

10. Mulberry ST NY Pizzeria
Flavor:
The crust is the star here—beautifully golden, crisp where it should be, and chewy in all the right places. Honestly, the crust alone is enough to make this my go-to pizza spot when I’m down in Murrells Inlet. The toppings are well-balanced and flavorful, and while the sauce could use a little more umph, it doesn’t take away from how enjoyable the slice is overall.
Vibe/Service:
Mulberry St has a nice dine-in dining room that makes it an easy place to sit down and enjoy a meal rather than just grabbing slices on the go. The space is comfortable, welcoming, and fits the area well—great for a casual lunch or dinner.
Overall Impression:
This is a very solid pizza spot and one I’ll absolutely be coming back to. Between the excellent crust, good flavor, and comfortable dine-in setup, Mulberry St Pizzeria stands out as my go-to option whenever I’m in the Murrells Inlet area.
📍Address: 3120 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

Look at that crust!
9. Sarabella’s Pizza and Deli
Flavor:
Sarabella’s is one I definitely need to revisit. On this stop, I tried the Sicilian and a white slice, skipping the traditional NY-style slice for now. The white pizza was really good—rich, flavorful, and well executed. The Sicilian didn’t land as well for me and leaned a bit dry, but that didn’t take away from the overall impression. Based on the white slice alone, there’s clearly solid pizza happening here, and I’m confident a classic slice deserves a proper try.
Vibe/Service:
The dining room is clean, spacious, and welcoming. This place feels more like a full Italian market than just a pizza shop, with pasta dishes, baked goods, deli items, and plenty of Italian specialties available. It’s located right on Main Street, about a half mile from the beach in North Myrtle Beach, making it a super convenient stop when you’re in beach mode and want something reliable.
Overall Impression:
Even without trying a traditional slice yet, I like Sarabella’s a lot. The white pizza stood out, the space is great, and the location makes it an easy go-to near the beach. This is firmly on my list to revisit soon—next time, it’s all about the classic slice.
📍Address: 683 Main St, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582

8. Pizza Town
Flavor:
Pizza Town really impressed me across the board. I had the Brooklyn slice, which was packed with flavor, the taco pizza, which was fun and well executed, and the chicken margherita, which was outstanding. The real surprise though was the plain cheese slice. I’m usually not a plain cheese guy at all, but they insisted I try it—and wow. Simple, balanced, and incredibly tasty. That alone says a lot about the quality of the dough, cheese, and execution here.
Vibe/Service:
Jason Black, a local creator, joined me on this stop as well, and the vibe was exactly what you want from a solid NY-style pizza spot. The dining room is small, casual, clean, and comfortable, with an easy in-and-out feel. They also do takeout, and like most legit NY-style places, they offer a strong slice lineup at lunch.
Overall Impression:
Pizza Town is a great all-around pizza place. Everything I tried hit, from specialty slices to the basics, and the fact that a plain cheese slice stood out says everything. If you’re in Conway and want dependable, flavorful NY-style with Italian flare pizza with plenty of slice options, this spot absolutely delivers.
📍Address: 1867 SC-544, Conway, SC 29526

Jason Black doing his creator thing

I love tacos, so why not have it on pizza?

Chicken Margherita did not disappoint
7. Palmetto Pointe Pizza
Flavor:
The pizza here is really solid, with a lot of variety. The highlight of my visit was the Chicago tavern-style thin crust—which isn’t even on the regular menu. You have to call ahead and request it since only one person makes it (same goes for their deep dish). If you’re from the Midwest, this is a cool hidden option to know about. The crust was crisp, the flavor was on point, the crumbled sausage tasted like Chicago, and it definitely scratched that tavern-style itch. The NY style slice was really great also with the right taste on the sauce and texture on the crust.
Vibe/Service:
The dining room is small but clean and welcoming, with a little outdoor area as well. I’m told they sometimes have live music outside, which is a nice bonus and adds to the neighborhood feel. Service was friendly and laid-back, very much a local spot vibe.
Overall Impression:
Palmetto Pointe Pizza is absolutely a place I’d go back to. Between the quality of the pizza, the variety, and the off-menu Chicago options, there’s more here than meets the eye. If you’re willing to plan ahead—or just want a consistently good slice—this spot is worth keeping in the rotation.
📍Address: 3711 Palmetto Pointe Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588

Chicago Thin Pizza
6. Coast Pizza
Flavor:
Coast Pizza offers a wide variety of well-made slices, from classic NY-style to Sicilian and grandma pies. Everything I tried was flavorful and enjoyable, with the spinach slice standing out as especially cheesy and satisfying. The classic slice with toppings delivered solid, familiar pizza flavor.
Vibe/Service:
The dining room is small but feels like a true neighborhood pizza shop. Service is friendly and welcoming, and the owner, Dan, deserves special mention—he’s incredibly supportive of other local businesses, including fellow pizza places, which is refreshing to see.
Overall Impression:
The only small knock for me was the crust—it was a bit floppy, and I personally prefer a little more crisp so the slice holds up better. That said, everything else is on point. With good pizza, great service, and a strong community-minded vibe, Coast Pizza is still an easy stop whenever I’m in the area. And with a name like “Coast” like my financial firm “Coast Wealth Management”, hard not to like this place 😂
📍Address: 9660 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

5. Corrado’s Pizza
Flavor:
Corrado’s was a total surprise in the best way. Despite being tucked inside the Myrtle Beach Mall, this pizza is all about taste. The slices are bold, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they’re doing. This is the kind of place where flavor comes first, and it shows with every bite.
Vibe/Service:
Very casual, food-court-style setup with a few tables, but that honestly works in its favor. It’s easy in and out, especially if you park behind the mall. Corrado’s has been holding it down here for over 30 years, and the locals clearly know this is the real deal.
Overall Impression:
Don’t let the location fool you—Corrado’s is the main event at the mall. It’s a true local gem that’s flown under the radar for years, delivering consistently great pizza without any fuss. Proof that sometimes the best slices are hiding in plain sight.
📍 Address: 10177 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

4. Genova’s Pizza
Flavor:
Genova’s delivers some seriously good pizza, especially for a newer spot that opened in 2025 and is still flying a bit under the radar. The standout for me is the drunken grandma pizza—it’s excellent and easily the highlight of multiple visits. I’ve also had a regular pepperoni slice that was very solid. They advertise a focus on Sicilian-style pies; I tried the upside-down Sicilian, which was good but didn’t quite hit the same level as the others. Overall, there’s a strong flavor across the board with a sauce and crust combo that works really well. They even get very creative with French Fry Pizza, yes it’s true, along with other creative pizzas, some just like you see in NY.
Vibe/Service:
This is very much a classic carryout-style pizza shop. There is limited dine-in seating, but it’s small and functional rather than a place you’d linger. That said, takeout is clearly the focus and works perfectly fine. Service has been straightforward and efficient on my visits.
Overall Impression:
Genova’s is a really impressive addition to the local pizza scene and one more people should be talking about. With a wide variety of slices and styles, some standout specialty pies, and consistently good execution, it’s a place I’ll keep coming back to—especially for that drunken grandma pizza.
📍Address: 4620 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588

Vodka Grandma is very good, my favorite hereThei

🏆🥉#3 River Oaks Pizzeria
Flavor:
River Oaks Pizzeria puts out some excellent pizza, with the grandma and Brooklyn-style pies being the clear standouts for me. The cup-and-char pepperoni is especially well done, adding great texture and flavor. The grandma pizza really shines here and happens to be my favorite in the area. I’m partial to grandma-style pies since I like the slightly thicker crust compared to classic NY-style, and this one hits that sweet spot—hearty, flavorful, and well-balanced. They offer a lot of variety too, from square pies to traditional rounds and signature combinations with different toppings.
Vibe/Service:
This is a full-service restaurant that leans into a modern Italian eatery vibe. The dining room is dimly lit, has a full bar, and feels more like a night-out spot than a quick pizza stop. Service has been consistently great, and the overall dining experience is a step above your typical pizzeria. You can also do takeout as they have a takeout area for this. They also offer a full Italian menu beyond pizza, which adds to the appeal. I visited the Carolina Forest location but they do have another location in Saybrooke area.
Overall Impression:

🏆🥈#2 Sergio’s Pizza
Flavor:
Sergio’s delivers really solid pizza across the board. Their grandma pizza is a standout and one I genuinely love, with great flavor and a satisfying bite. The classic NY-style pizza is also very well done, with a crust that holds up nicely and a balanced combination of sauce and cheese. I also really enjoyed the Margherita pizza, which was fresh and flavorful. Overall, the taste here is strong and consistent across styles.
Vibe/Service:
This is a casual, comfortable spot with a nice-sized dining area that works well for both quick stops and sitting down. The location in Carolina Forest is super convenient, and beyond pizza, they offer a variety of other menu items. One nice bonus is the bakery side, which features a solid selection of Italian desserts. They also cater, making this a versatile spot for different occasions.
Overall Impression:
Sergio’s Pizza is a well-rounded, reliable option with excellent flavor and variety. Between the standout grandma pizza, a strong classic NY slice, and added perks like catering and an Italian bakery, it’s an easy place to recommend and one I gladly return to.

Grandma Pizza
🏆🥇#1 Scotto’s Pizza
Flavor:
Scotto’s earns the top spot for NY-style pizza, no question. Their Sicilian is absolutely out of this world — the flavor alone is unreal, and even though I’m not typically a “sauce person,” I could literally drink the sauce on this one. The round pies and grandma pizzas are also outstanding, with the large NY-style pie being especially impressive: perfectly baked, foldable crust with excellent overall balance and taste. Everything here feels fresh, well-executed, and consistently delicious.
Vibe/Service:
Scotto’s offers a casual dining room if you want to eat in, but they’re just as convenient for takeout or DoorDash. Beyond pizza, they also have a solid lineup of sandwiches, subs, and classic Italian dishes, which makes this an easy go-to whether you’re in the mood for a slice, a full meal, or feeding a group. Service is smooth and the operation runs efficiently.
Overall Impression:
Scotto’s Pizza is the clear #1 in the NY-style category. Between the unbelievable Sicilian, excellent round pies and grandma pizza, and a strong supporting menu of sandwiches and Italian dishes, this place delivers on every level. Add in family favorites like pepperoni, BBQ pizza, and chicken bacon ranch, and Scotto’s comfortably earns the top spot.

🍕 OVERALL SCOOP’S BEST PIZZA
Category of Its Own (Roman + NY + Italian)
🏆🥇#1 Anto’s Pizza Romana
#1 Overall Pizza in the Greater Myrtle Beach area.
Flavor:
Anto’s Pizza Romana is in a league of its own. This isn’t just great pizza — it’s craftsmanship. Their Roman-style pizza, especially the focaccia-based square pies, is what put them on the map, and for good reason. The crust is light, airy, and incredibly flavorful, with that signature Roman-style char that’s intentional, not burnt. In 2025, they won Best Focaccia Pizza Crust in Rome, Italy, which says everything you need to know. On top of that, their round NY-style pies hold their own, proving this kitchen can execute multiple styles at a very high level. Every bite feels thoughtful, balanced, and made with purpose.
Vibe/Service:
Anto’s has taken Conway by storm, and the constant long lines tell the story. This is a destination spot — people are willing to wait, and they do. The space feels modern but rooted in tradition, with a clear pride in process and ingredients. You can feel the passion behind the operation, from the dough to the sourcing to the way everything is presented. Service is efficient despite the volume, and the experience feels elevated without being pretentious.
Overall Impression:
Anto’s Pizza Romana earns the #1 Overall spot because it transcends categories. It’s Roman pizza, NY-style pizza, and Italian craftsmanship all under one roof — and done at an elite level. Winning a pizza competition in Rome isn’t marketing fluff; it shows in the product. Between the award-winning focaccia crust, expertly executed square and round pies, and the impact they’ve already made locally, Anto’s sets the standard. This is the benchmark, and everything else gets measured against it.

Final Thoughts
This list was built by actually going out, ordering different styles, trying multiple slices, and paying attention to the details — crust, sauce, balance, and overall experience. Conway and the surrounding area have a much better pizza scene than most people realize, and there’s real variety here depending on what style you love.
This isn’t meant to be the final word — pizza is personal. What I love, you might rank differently, and that’s part of the fun.
